A mighty browser extension

The PDF
compressor that lives in your upload button.

Shrink PDFs, convert formats, and preview exact sizes directly inside the upload forms you already use. Zero servers required.

Free for one file at a time. Your files never leave your device.

Install once. Then upload the way you always do.

With Krisox in Chrome, there's nothing new to learn. Wherever you upload a file (job applications, email, school portals, government forms) Krisox shrinks it, or converts it to the format the site needs, on the fly, right before it's sent.

  1. 1

    Add Krisox to Chrome

One click. No account, no setup.

  2. 2

Upload the way you always do

Click the site's upload button, drag a file in, or paste a screenshot.

  3. 3

    It's compressed and sent

Krisox shows the new size, then uploads the smaller file. Converting to another format is part of Pro.

Your data. Your device. Zero exceptions.

Krisox compresses files inside the browser tab you're using, with Chrome's built-in engine. There is no Krisox server, so there is nothing for your files to be sent to. No uploads, no accounts, and nothing about your files is collected.

  • 0 servers involved in compression
  • 0 network requests per file
  • Signed PDFs: never modified

A browser extension built for the upload forms you already use

Browser-native speed

Krisox uses the image and compression engines already compiled into Chrome. A 3,075-page PDF compresses in about two seconds, on your machine.

10.0 MB → 1.9 MB3,075 pages · ~2 s

Smart format matching

Krisox reads which file types the site accepts. Formats it would reject are disabled, and files are converted when the site requires it.

Automatic metadata stripping

Re-encoded photos lose their GPS location and camera data. At Recommended and Extreme, PDFs from Illustrator and other design apps lose the hidden editing copy they carry, which can be half the file.

Frequently asked questions

What is Krisox?

Krisox is a browser extension for Chrome. It compresses PDFs and images, and converts between JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF, inside the upload forms of the sites you already use, right before the file is sent.

Is Krisox free?

Compressing one file at a time is free, with every compression level. Pro adds compressing several files at once, ZIP packaging and format conversion, for $7 a month or $70 a year.

Can my company buy Krisox for the whole team?

Yes. Enterprise is $5 per seat per month, or $50 per seat per year, from 5 seats. You get one company license key that IT can push to every browser, so nobody has to paste anything.

Does Krisox upload my files anywhere?

No. Compression and conversion run inside your browser tab. The only place your file goes is the site you were uploading it to.

Which websites does it work on?

Any site with a standard file upload: file pickers, drag and drop, and pasted screenshots. You can turn Krisox off for a site from its popup.

Which files can it compress?

PDF, JPG, PNG and WebP. Images can also be converted to JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF. With Pro, iPhone HEIC photos are converted to JPG or PNG, for sites that can't open them.

What if I want the original file?

Click "Upload original" and the file is sent unchanged. Signed and password-protected PDFs are always left alone.

Will the website see a lower-quality file?

Only if you choose it. Krisox shows the exact size at each level before anything is uploaded, and text in PDFs stays text.
